Hesed House is a not–for–profit 501(c)3 organization. Contributions are deductible to the fullest extent of current tax law.

The majority of Hesed House's income is dependent upon private financial donations – individuals, companies, corporations, organizations. If you are already a financial donor to Hesed House, we "thank you"! Your generosity in partnering with us to combat homelessness in our communities is already impacting men, women and children at Hesed House.

Thousands of families and individuals have been served through the ministries at Hesed House, and as you might imagine, caring for this many people requires many types of resources –and we must admit without apology – that the primary resource required to keep operating is financial. While the ministries at Hesed House are all economically efficient financial resources are needed to meet Hesed House's basic operating expenses – expenses that are much like those you pay to maintain your home or business…only greater.

Unrestricted donations are directed to critical operating expenses required to serve more than 400 individuals a day at Hesed House: shelter, food, utilities, salaries, staff training, day–to–day emergencies and facilities repairs and upgrades – and more significantly – program costs such as children's counseling, temporary child care as a parent(s) looks for work or attends job skills development classes, sleeping mats and blankets, case management, truck rental to move furniture for individuals and families moving into independent housing, parenting and budgeting classes to name a few.

Gift Card Donations are appreciated and treated as a cash donation. Cards are maintained by the administration and are used to bridge the gap of material needs of Hesed House guests and residents (shoes for school or work, bookbags, clothes for job interviews, etc.).

Credit card donations can be made by calling the Finance Office or Development Office at 630–897–2156. You may make a one–time donation or initiate an automatic monthly donation to a credit card by speaking with staff in either office.

Hesed House does not share donor information with outside sources and does not publicize donor names in its Annual Report, unless approval has been granted by the donor for specific naming or sponsorship recognition within a Hesed House publication or on other printed materials.
