If you reside in the Hesed House service area (Southern Kane County – Aurora, North Aurora – and surrounding areas or Kendall County) and unfortunate circumstances indicate that you might be homeless soon, please contact staff in the office of Carpenter's Homeless Prevention Program at Hesed House at: 630–897–2156, Monday – Friday 8am to 4pm.

The PADS Overnight Emergency Shelter at 659 South River Street, Aurora, opens at 7 p.m. every night of the week and closes at 7 a.m. Staff is available at the shelter to answer any questions you might have regarding emergency shelter, meals, showers, and other services available to you. The PADS A.M. Daytime Drop–in Center (659 South River Street) is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meals are provided and guests can sign up for additional services (meeting with case workers, laundry, etc.). The Aurora Area Soup Kitchen (659 South River Street) offers lunch to anyone in need of a meal on Monday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. No persons under the age of 18 without accompaniment from a legal parent or legal guardian are ineligible for shelter or services.

If you are in an emergency situation, please call the main line of Hesed House (630–897–2165) and ask to speak with someone from the PADS Program, otherwise, if you cannot immediately reach staff, please leave a name and number where you can be contacted.

While Hesed House does not discriminate in providing shelter and services to individuals in need; it does not tolerate the use or sale of alcohol or drugs on its property. Weapons, drug paraphernalia and illegal activities are not allowed on Hesed House property. Infractions to this no–tolerance policy, including inappropriate behavior, will be dealt with accordingly.
