More Ways to give

Legacy of Hope Society

The Legacy of Hope Society is a special group of donors who plan to make or have made a charitable gift to benefit Hesed House in their estate plans.

The most common type of planned gift is a bequest, which is a gift of property or money made through one’s will or living trust. One can also name Hesed House as a beneficiary to a life insurance policy, an IRA or other retirement plan, a charitable remainder trust, etc. There are many benefits to making this type of charitable donation; however, we believe the greatest is that you have made the ultimate gesture of your belief and support in the mission of Hesed House – to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless and give people the chance to hope again.

You can learn more by visiting this site.

If you are interested in remembering Hesed House in your estate plans, please consult with your financial planning partner, or call Hesed House’s Development Office at 630-914-6428 to learn more.

Corporate Employee Matching Program

Please check with your Human Resources Department to see if your employer matches employee financial donations. If it does, please obtain and complete your company’s matching gift form and mail it along with your check to Hesed House to initiate the matching gift process. Some companies will also make a donation to a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization for employee volunteer time there.

Online donations can also be matched by completing information within the designated matching gift section.

87 cents of every dollar donated to Hesed House supports the services and programs designed to help individuals out of homelessness: immediate shelter, food and case management; job skills training; mental health and addictions counseling; veteran’s and housing assistance; children’s counseling; medical care, etc. The remainder of your donated dollar helps meet general operating expenses.

Vehicle Donations

Hesed House is pleased to partner with Cars of Hope for our vehicle donations.
This allows us to be better stewards as we utilize this great partnership that specializes in helping people in need of transportation.

If you are interested in donating your car, truck, or van to Hesed House and wish to first speak with us please call (630)914-6428. Donated vehicles are inspected and at times may be sold at auction when repairs outweigh the value of the vehicle. Funds raised are used to support other repairs and vehicles. Both Hesed House, and our guests, are served through this type of donation.
