With the help of professional staff, alliances with outside agencies, and 7,500 volunteers from 90 area churches, businesses, and organizations, over 1,000 individuals (including hundreds of children) are served each year through Hesed House’s shelter and three housing programs.
Hesed House is heavily dependent upon its valued volunteers. Due to COVID-19, on-site volunteer activities have been temporarily suspended.
To support our current efforts, we invite you to consider checking out our “Current Needs” list or making a financial contribution in lieu of serving.
Under typical circumstances, we utilize groups to help serve meals and help with various projects. Individuals/Families are encouraged to see if there is a group you are already connected with and to join them when they serve.
Volunteers play an important role at Hesed House, helping us care for our neighbors while providing hope and dignity! As our volunteer Fannie shared, “I’m glad [Hesed House] is here, because you never know what one night can bring.” At Hesed House, people know they are surrounded by people who care.
